Our Story

Why we want to re:frame
the Film & TV industry?

re:frame was born from a deep frustration with the lack of diversity in the Film and TV industry.

We saw talented individuals from underrepresented backgrounds overlooked, their stories untold. We believe this industry, with its power to shape culture, should reflect the world around it.

That's why we're committed to reframing the industry from the inside out. Through our targeted recruiting solutions to community services (coming soon) in our events, newsletters, and masterclasses that empower and equip those often left outside the frame.

"I came into this industry in 2019 and was shocked to be the only Black person on-set. I knew I had to start re:frame."

Founded by BAFTA-nominated director Stewart Kyasimire, re:frame was launched after he became aware of the lack of diverse crew actively working in the Film & TV industry.

Known for his work on spotlighting diverse stories in 'Black and Scottish', 'The Wedding and 'Anansi Boys: The Making Of', Stewart has been a vocal advocate for the BAME community, consistently pushing boundaries to bring untold stories to life.

When he realised the lack of diverse crew available to work alongside him, Stewart started Reframe as a way to create a sustainable and long-term solution to hiring and training diverse crew.
